Zilber (Silber) (née Kanter, in 1st marriage Lifshitz) Grunya Aronovna

(b. 17 May 1918, Henichesk, Kherson region) — grinder.

In 1934, Grunya Zilber completed 8 grades of secondary school in Šiauliai, lived with her parents, and helped with the family farm. After marriage, she was a homemaker. In June 1941, she was imprisoned in the Šiauliai ghetto. In June 1944, she was deported to the Stutthof concentration camp (Germany) and later transferred to Praust. In May 1945, she was liberated and returned to Žagarė, Lithuania.

In 1948, she remarried Faivish Zilber (b. 1905). In 1946, the family moved to Riga, where from 1963 Grunya worked as a grinder at the “Straume” factory.

In 1972, Grunya Zilber emigrated with her family to Israel.
