He completed eight years of schooling and worked as an apprentice fitter at Plant “SVARZ” (1939–1941, Moscow). He served in the Soviet Army (1941–1944) and was then transferred to construction work as a forwarding agent (1944–1946, Komsomolsk-on-Amur). He moved to Riga, where he worked as a foreman in the “Raznoprom” artel (1946–1947), as foreman of the rubber workshop at the “Rigas Jurmala” combine (1947–1948), and as a fitter in the “Liesma” artel (1948–1959). In 1959 he was convicted; after his release, from 1960 to 1972 he worked as a fitter in the “Liesma” artel (later the “Straume” factory).
In marriage to Rosa Vladimirovna (Volfovna) Reznik (née Bekman) (1929, Gorky), a son, Boris Markovich Reznik(1950, Riga), and a daughter, Bronislava Markovna Reznik (1952, Riga), were born.
In 1972 he received permission to emigrate to Israel, where since 1971 his nephew, Arnold Emanuilovich Neiburger (1938, Gorky), had been living.
