Rafailson (Rafailsohn) Yuly (July) Davidovich (13 April 1923, Riga) — physician.

Yuly Rafailson was born into the family of physician David Leibovich Rafailson and nurse Rachel Yakovlevna Rafailson (née Katz).

He graduated from Riga Secondary School No. 18 in 1941. During the war he was evacuated to Kirov Oblast, where he worked as an accountant at a local butter factory from 1941 to 1942. Later he moved to Alma-Ata, Kazakh SSR, where he studied at the local medical institute from 1942 to 1944.

He was conscripted into the Soviet Army and served on the 2nd Baltic, Leningrad, and, during the Soviet–Japanese War, the Transbaikal fronts (1944–1945). He was awarded the medals “For Combat Merit”, “For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945”, and “For the Victory over Japan”, as well as several jubilee medals.

After demobilisation he returned to Riga and graduated from the medical faculty of University of Latvia in 1950.

He worked as a physician-therapist at Sigulda Hospital (1950) and at the 4th Riga City Joint Hospital (1951–1971).

He was divorced in 1962. There are no records in the documents concerning his former wife or children.

In 1971 Yuly Rafailson received permission to emigrate to Israel, where his cousin Yehezkiel Nisim Zundeleovich lived.
