Dimanshtein (Dimanstein) (née Gotghelf, Etina) Vera Meyerovna (born 1 July 1927, Ludza) - factory worker

Vera Dimanshtein was the daughter of Meer Gotghelf (b. 1901, Riga; d. 1942) and Riva Gotghelf (née Prays, b. 1903, Ludza). In 1941, she was evacuated with her parents to the Ivanovo region of Russia.

In 1943, Vera completed her eight years of secondary education and enrolled at Vocational School No. 9 in Vyazniki, Ivanovo Oblast, where she trained until 1945. That year, she returned to Riga and began working as a lathe operator at the VEF factory. In 1947, she transitioned to a quality-controller role at the same establishment, which she held until 1972.

Vera’s personal life included two marriages: first to Mikhail Etin (b. 1930, Gomel), which ended in divorce in 1961, and then to Leib Dimanshtein (b. 1930, Daugavpils), divorced in 1971.

In 1972, Vera Dimanshtein was granted permission to emigrate to Israel, where she continued her life after many years in Soviet Latvia.
