Ziv (Siv) Benyamin (Benjamin) (b. 20 May 1879) — Doctor of Natural Sciences, public figure.
Benyamin Ziv studied economics, philosophy, and natural sciences in Berlin, Paris, and Königsberg. For many years he headed the foreign correspondence department of the Azov-Don Bank and the Siberian Trade Bank in St. Petersburg. Contributed to several German newspapers. Served as editor of the economics section of the newspaper Rech’; later, until the October Revolution, directed the economics section of Birzhevye Vedomosti. Worked at the Russian Ministry of Finance and authored monographs on economic issues.
In Riga since 1918. From 1920 served as editor of the economics section of the newspaper Severnaya. Member of the industrial section of the Ministry of Finance. Since 1928 lectured at the Commercial Institute, where he was appointed professor. Organized several industrial associations and authored numerous works on economics. Member of the Latvian Union of Writers and Journalists.
