Varakļāni

Born in 5572 (1812), to his father who was rabbi of Lucin.

Son-in-law of R. Yisrael Zeligman, rabbi of Drissa.

He served here in the rabbinate for about seven years, approximately from 5609 to 5616 (1849–1856), when he moved to fill his father's place as rabbi of Lucin (see there).

He passed away on 4 Nisan 5636 (29 March 1876).
