R. Sh. Zalman Dovber son of R. Chaim Noach Zeldin

Daugavpils / Dvinsk / Dinabug / Denenborg / Denabarg / Dayyanim, Rabbinic Decisors, and Synagogue Rabbis

Born approximately in 5613 (1853) in the town of Globoki, district of Vitebsk.

Av Beit Din and rabbinic decisor.1)

An approbation from him from 5649 was printed in the book Divrei.

Chaim (Vilna 5649), where he signs: “Shlomo Zalman Dovber Zeldin, rabbinic decisor and member of the court of the holy congregation of Dinabug, may it be protected.”

Also in the book Mevaser Tzedek (Vilna 5673) his approbation from 5672 was printed, where he signs: “Zalman Dovber Zeldin, assistant Av Beit Din and rabbinic decisor of the holy congregation of Dvinsk.”

He passed away in Moscow on 21 Shevat 5693 (17 February 1933), and his resting place is there in the Vostryakovo Cemetery.2)

In his announcement in HaMelitz newspaper, no. 84, dated 30 Nisan 5663, and also in congratulatory announcements of his daughter's wedding in the same newspaper, no. 86, dated 2 Iyyar 5663, his name appears as Shneur Zalman.
