Yufa Bentsion Meerovich (14.08.1914, Kremenchug, Poltava Region — ?, ?) — engineer, designer. After completing the Glavtransmash Technical College with the specialty of technician-technologist for cold metal cutting (Kremenchug), in 1935—36 — designer at a railcar manufacturing plant (Kremenchug). In 1936—37 — service in the Red Army (Novograd-Volynsky). In 1938—39 — process engineer at the Central Repair Workshops (Kremenchug); in 1939—41 — designer at a steam turbine power station (Kremenchug). In 1941—45 — in the active army (Northwestern Front). War disabled (severe wound in 1942). After demobilization in 1945 he was directed for permanent residence to Riga. In 1945—47 — chief mechanic of the locomotive depot; in 1947—50 — engineer at the railcar manufacturing plant; in 1950—75 — engineer at the Riga experimental plant of Latvenergo. He was awarded the medals “For the Victory over Germany 1941—1945,” “For Combat Merit,” “20 Years of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941—1945,” “25 Years of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941—1945,” “50 Years of the USSR Armed Forces,” and “For Valiant Labor in Honor of the 100th Anniversary of V.I. Lenin's Birth.”
