Yankovich (née Parmit, in her first marriage – Berlin) Leya Mozusovna (20.08.1904, Novgorod) – milliner. Born into the family of Parmit Moisey (Mozus) Itsikovich (1861, Valday – 1910, Novgorod) and Parmit Berta Zakharovna (1866, Panevėžys, Lithuania – 1929, Riga). She completed 8 grades of secondary school. She was dependent on her husband (1920—1928); moving to Riga, she worked as a milliner at private workshops (1928—1941); was evacuated to Samarkand, Uzbek SSR, where she worked as a bread-ration controller at the Moscow Art School, which was based in that city during the Great Patriotic War (1941—1944); returning to Riga, she ran the household (1945—1947); was a hat maker – at the Industrial Combine of Latoptpromtorg (1947), at the “Stalin Five-Year Plan” artel (1947—1948); ran the household (1948—1949); was head of the workshop at the “Fantaziya” artel (1949—1951); ran the household (1951—1954); worked as a hat maker – at the “Bītoviks” artel (1954—1958), at the “Zvaigzne” factory (1958—1959), at the Household Services Combine of the Moscow District (1959—1963), at the Knitwear and Headwear Combine (1963—1965); from 1965 – pensioner.

In her marriage to Berlin Isaak (Aleksandr) Berkovich (1892, Vitebsk, Belorussia – 1931, Riga), daughter Kaplan (née Berlin) Zinaida Aleksandrovna (1922, Riga) was born.

In her marriage to Yankovich David Samuilovich (1909, Riga – killed at the front in the Great Patriotic War near Leningrad in 1942), no children were born.

In 1980 she received permission to emigrate to Israel, where since 1973 her granddaughter, Abeleva (née Kaplan) Aleksandra Berovna (1945, Riga), had been living.
