Yankelevich Gerson Khaimovich (11.4.1923, Jēkabpils) - worker. He completed 6 grades of basic school in Jēkabpils. In June 1941 Ya.'s family was evacuated to Volgograd Region, where Ya. worked at the Clara Zetkin collective farm. In the summer of 1942 Ya. was conscripted into the army. After the war, in 1947, Ya. returned to Jēkabpils and until 1948 worked at the Krustpils Brick Plant. From 1948 to 1958 Ya. worked at the Western Dvina Combine in Kalinin Region, USSR. From 1959 to 1969 Ya. was a worker at the “Krustpils” brick plant. From 1961 to 1978 - worker at the “Sarkanā Tekstilniece” plant.

Ya.'s father, a native of Krustpils, Yankelevich Khaim (1885 – date of death unknown), died and was buried in Volgograd Region. Ya.'s mother, Yankelevich (née Shmiilshteyn) Etel (1887 – 1963), was born in Bobruysk and is buried in Riga.

He was awarded the medal “For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945.”
