R. Yaakov son of R. Avraham Weidon

Kārsava / Kursovka

He passed away young on 18 Adar 5679 and was brought here to rest.

Text of his tombstone:

A monument to a living soul — \
a great loss was lost \
by the congregation of Kraslava, \
for he was cut down in the prime of his days — \
our dear rabbi, crown of our head, \
the Rabbi the G[aon]… our master Yaakov, \
son of R. Avraham Weidon. \
He was among the chosen few, crowned \
with good qualities, beloved and loving to all; \
his holy name \
shall be forever engraved \
in the hearts of his congregation and his family, always. \
Those mourning him \
and erecting this tombstone for him. \
May his soul be bound in the bond of life. \
The first day of Adar, 5679.
