Valdshtein (Waldstein) (née Vazbutska) Franziska (Frantziska) Moiseyevna (born 19 August 1906, Riga) – homemaker.
Franziska Valdshtein was born into the family of Moisey Samuilovich Vazbutskiy (b. 1876, Dvinsk – now Daugavpils – d. 1934, Riga), an economist who worked in M. Kron’s general goods store, and Rozaliya Mironovna Vazbutska (née Kron) (b. 1878, Riga – d. 1942, Tavda, Sverdlovsk Region), a housewife.
During the First World War, the family moved to Denmark, where Franziska attended school in Copenhagen from 1913 to 1924.
Note:
At that time, her brother, Maximilian Moiseyevich Vazbutskiy (b. 1908, Riga), was studying in Germany at a technical university, from which he graduated in 1933 with a degree in architecture. That same year, he emigrated to Palestine (now Israel), where he died in 1984.
Upon returning to Riga in 1924, Franziska did not take up employment and assisted with the household, later becoming a homemaker. In 1941, she was evacuated to Tavda in the Sverdlovsk Region, from which she returned in 1945.
From her marriage to Abram Khirshevich Valdshtein (b. 1899, Auce, Latvia – d. 1969, Riga), a daughter was born: Evelina Abramovna Valdshtein (b. 1929, Riga).
In 1985, Franziska Valdshtein received permission to emigrate to Israel, where since 1973 her daughter Evelina Abramovna Valdshtein had been living.
