Tuzman (Tusmann) Askar Grigoryevich (4 July 1938, Moscow) — worker.

Askar Tuzman was the son of Grigory Naumovich Tuzman (1899, Korystyn, Ukraine — 1943, killed at the front during the Second World War) and Bella Abramovna Tuzman (1904, Lubny, Ukraine).

In 1949, he moved with his family to Riga, where he completed seven grades at Secondary School No. 30 (1954). He worked as a laborer at the “Pioner” shoe factory (1955–1957), and served in the Soviet Army (1957–1960, Estonia and Latvia).

After demobilization, he worked as a stitcher at the leather and footwear combine “Venta” (1960–1961), then as a fitter-adjuster at the Riga Instrument-Making Plant (1961–1962), and briefly as a sailor in the fishing collective farm “Padomju Zvejnieks” (1962). He then returned to the Riga Instrument-Making Plant as a fitter-adjuster (1962–1972), worked as a tool fitter at the A. S. Popov Radio Factory (1972), and as a fitter at the heating network enterprise “Siltums” (1972–1973).

In marriage with Maria Moiseevna Tuzman (née Kopman) (1943, Aktobe, Kazakh SSR), a son was born: Pinkhas Askarovich Tuzman (1969, Riga).

In 1973, he received permission to emigrate to Israel, where since 1972 the parents of his wife — Moisey Kalmanovich Kopman (1910, Varakļāni, Latvia) and Tsiva Samuilovna Kopman (née Shneer) (1910, Varakļāni) — had been living.
