Tsimmerman Gersen (according to other sources – Gershen) Ruvinovich (1950, Krāslava, Latvia) – worker. Born into the family of office workers Tsimmerman Ruvin Yankelevich (1923, Dvinsk, today – Daugavpils) and Tsimmerman (née Epshteyn) Genya Khaimovna (1922, Rechytsa, Belorussia). He completed Riga Secondary School No. 17 (1968), worked as a worker at the VEF plant (1968—1969), loader at Latpotrebsoyuz (1969—1970), and sorter at the Main Post Office (1970—1971).

In 1971 he received permission to emigrate to Israel, where his aunt (his father's sister) Avneri (née Tsimmerman) Khana Yankelevna (1927, Dvinsk) was living — she had married a Polish citizen and during repatriation left for her husband's homeland and from there to Israel.
