Viesīte / Wessen

Born on 25 Shevat 5665 (31 January 1905) in Yezna near Kovna, where his father served as rabbi (afterward serving as rabbi of Saldus and Bauska).

He studied at the Telshe yeshiva, was a journalist and writer, and served as rabbi here from 5692.

In 5684–5696 (1924–1936) he also served as rabbi of the town of Brunava near Bauska.
