Stender Robert (Ruvim) (18 March 1906, Riga — ?) — violinist.

In 1928, Robert Stender graduated from the Latvian Conservatory (class of A. Metz). He later continued his studies in Berlin with Professor Hessen.

From 1927 to 1940, he served as second concertmaster and soloist during the summer seasons of the Liepāja Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, and also appeared as a conductor of promenade concerts.

In Riga, he gave solo performances at the conservatory, the Jewish Club, and on radio broadcasts. His repertoire included both classical works and compositions by Jewish composers.

During the 1933–1934 season, he headed the musical department of the Jewish Theatre and served as concertmaster of its orchestra.

In the autumn of 1934, he was invited to Kaunas to work as concertmaster of the orchestra at the Lithuanian State Opera Theatre and to teach at the conservatory (from 1936 — associate professor).
