In 1941, she was imprisoned in the Liepāja Ghetto. In 1943, during the liquidation of the ghetto, she managed to escape. Until 1945, she hid from persecution in the basement of house No. 14 on Lenin Street in Liepāja.

From 1945 to 1946, she worked as an accountant at the Liepāja Forestry Plant. From 1946 to 1952, she was a housewife. From 1952 to 1956, she worked as a master hairdresser at the communal services trust in Liepāja.

She married Mikhail Skutelsky (1912, Liepāja), and their son, Karmel Skutelsky, was born in 1948.

During the Holocaust, her first husband, Mendel Zik (1916, Liepāja — 1941, Liepāja), her parents, Iser-Leib Vit (1885, Tukums — 1941, Liepāja) and Ita Vit (1892, Sabile — 1941, Liepāja), and her sisters, Klara Vit (1925, Kuldīga — 1941, Liepāja) and Tsilya Vit (1928, Kuldīga — 1941, Liepāja), were killed. Her sister, Lea Vit, emigrated to the territory of present-day Israel in the 1930s.
