He served as ritual slaughterer and rabbi in Slok (Sloka) until 5675 (1915).

In 5678 (1918) he was accepted here as temporary rabbi, and after the passing of the aforementioned R. Tzvi Hirsh he remained to serve in the city as rabbi until his passing here in the month of Adar 5686 (February 1926).
