Rēzekne / Rezhitsa

He served as dayan alongside the aforementioned R. Dushavitz.

He passed away on 17 Tammuz 5684 (19 July 1924), and his resting place is here.

A letter of Torah novellae from him “to teach the wayward understanding” was printed in HaPisgah, booklet 2, fourth collection (p. 22), dated 4 Nisan 5657.

He also appears in the prenumeranten at the beginning of the book Pachad Yitzchak (Warsaw 1885).

Here lies \
a man of distinction, \
distinguished in elevated qualities and character. \
Always by day and night he toiled in Torah and meditated. \
Its branches and blossoms grew many. \
The great rabbi, stronghold and tower, \
our master and teacher, our master R. Aharon Yehuda, \
son of R. Arye Leib Schulman, of blessed and holy memory. \
His soul ascended in purity \
on the seventeenth of Tammuz 5684. \
May his soul be bound in the bond of life.
