Rudnitskaya (Rudnitzkaya) (née Gekht) Edel Borisovna (1905, Daugavpils) — worker.

Edel Rudnitskaya was the daughter of Berka Gekht (1860, Daugavpils — 1932, Daugavpils) and Mina Gekht (1866, Daugavpils — 1960, Daugavpils).

In 1921 she completed six classes of the Daugavpils City School. In 1938–1945 she worked at the Gorky Automobile Plant. In 1941 she was evacuated from Latvia and returned to Riga in 1945. In 1948–1951 she worked as a watchwoman at the Riga Film Studio. In 1952–1958 she worked at the “Spars” combine, and from 1958 she was a homemaker.

She was married to Kalman Rudnitsky (1904, Daugavpils — 1943, Irkutsk Region). Their children were Ber Rudnitsky (1934, Daugavpils) and Maya Wasserman (née Rudnitskaya; 1938, Gorky).

During the Holocaust, Rudnitskaya’s siblings — Ida Feldman (née Gekht; 1898, Daugavpils — 1941, Riga), Rakhmil Gekht (1900, Daugavpils — 1941, Daugavpils), Anna Shekht (1902, Daugavpils — 1941, Riga), and Khaim Gekht (…, Daugavpils — 1941, Riga) — were murdered. Her sisters Khaya Lang (née Gekht; 1908, Daugavpils) and Basya Treizon (née Gekht; 1910, Daugavpils) lived in Latvia in the post-war years.

In 1969 Edel Rudnitskaya received permission to emigrate to Israel, following an invitation from the mother of her daughter’s husband, Khaya-Bluma Bernshtam (née Simson, Wasserman; 1912, Ventspils).
