Ventspils / Windau
Born in the city of Priekule (Frauenburg). He studied at the Telshe yeshiva.
He served as rabbi of Ventspils from the end of the month of Menachem Av 5692 (August 1932).1)
In the archive records from 1939 he also appears as rabbi in Pilten.
He perished in the Holocaust.
Yahadut Latviya, p. 415. In Latvia: Batei Knesset VeRabbanim, p. 239, it states he was born on 28 August 1870 (1 Elul 5630). But it should be noted that the article there writes that “the young rabbi” was elected, and if so, the birthdate given there is incorrect. (I rechecked in the archive records, and indeed it is written there as in Latvia: Batei Knesset VeRabbanim.)
