Krustpils / Kreutzburg

His father was among the Perushim, the first settlers of the Land of Israel and founders of the Ashkenazi community nn Jerusalem in 5570. He served in Jerusalem as rabbinic decisor.

From the month of Iyyar 5617 (April 1857) he is also signed as rabbi in the registration books of the Jakobstadt community.

He passed away on 12 Kislev (the year is not known).

Father of R. Yaakov Eliyahu, rabbi of Riga, and R. Yisrael, rabbi of Gustini (Dankre).
