R. Peyvish (Feivel) Rappaport

Daugavpils / Dvinsk / Dinabug / Denenborg / Denabarg

He was counted among the Hasidic congregation, and served as rabbi of the city after the passing of R.Y.L. Batlan, and also as official government rabbi.

He is mentioned at the end of a responsum of the Rebbe Maharyan of Nizhyn, son of the Tzemach Tzedek of Lubavitch, printed in the responsa Ayala Shlucha (end of section 28): “But I want and it is proper to attach at least the opinion of one prominent authority such as… the renowned rabbi, our teacher Feivel, from Dinabug.”1)

He passed away in his old age, on Motzaei Shabbat Kodesh Selichot (5623?).
