R. Moshe Aharon son of R. Yaakov Rabinowitz

Born in Smorgon in 5598 (1838).

He served here as rabbi.¹⁾ Afterward he resigned from the rabbinate, moved to Vilna, and engaged in commerce.

He was among the founders of the moshava Hadera in the Land of Israel.

He passed away in Vilna in 5657 (1897).

Perhaps he is “the rabbi, Av Beit Din” mentioned in the responsa Olat Yitzchak, vol. 1, section 193, who served here as rabbi in 5631.
