Born around the year 5617 (1857) in Vilna. Son-in-law of R. Yekutiel Zissel Ilian, rabbi of Klikol (brother-in-law of R. Reuven Yitzchak Ilian, rabbi and rabbinic decisor in Riga1)).
He was the first rabbi of the town. He served from the year 5653 until the end of 5656 (1893–1896), when he was appointed as rabbi in his father-in-law's2) place in Klikol. In the year 5665 (1905) he was accepted as judge and rabbinic decisor in the town of
Pakruojis (Pokroy), district of Šiauliai.
He passed away at the end of the year 5667 (1907).
Torah novellae from him were published in the Torah journal HaPeles.
