R. Arye Leib Ratzker son of R. Eliezer

Born in Ratzk, district of Suvalki. A student of the Maharal Zunz, rabbi of Polotsk.
Son-in-law of R. Gedaliah Ginzburg, who at the end of his days served as rabbi in the community of Ostra.1)
In his youth he served here as rabbi, and afterward served as rosh yeshiva in Dvinsk, rabbi in Radin, and rosh yeshiva in Vilna until his passing on 11 Nisan 5596 (29 March 1836).
