Prais Erich (21 July 1859, Zhager) — public figure.

A respected citizen of Riga, by decree of the Tsar, Erich Prais was appointed Director of the Livonian Provincial Committee for Prisoners. He served as Honorary Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Riga District. From 1917 (with a short interruption) he was the warden of the Great Choral Synagogue. He made significant contributions to the construction and embellishment of the synagogue and was actively involved in a number of philanthropic societies in Riga.
