R. Aharon Shekhna son of R. Shlomo Yehuda Leib Platzinsky

Viļāni1)

Son-in-law of the aforementioned R. Tzvi Hirsh Yemini.

He served as rabbi of Antonopol (Boruvka, see there), and from 5700 (1940) filled his father-in-law's place in the rabbinate here.

He perished here in the Holocaust with the members of his community in the summer of 5701 (1941).2)

Latvia and Rabbis

1)
One should distinguish it from the town of Vilyan near Kovna.
2)
In Pinkas HaKehillot, p. 118, it is written that R. Y. Grodni was the first rabbi here. But I have not found any additional mention of this. Also what is written there, that R. Yosef Kubnat served here as rabbi, does not appear in other sources.
