Oshkaln (Aranovich) Gita (22 September 1928, Riga) — cashier.

Gita Oshkaln was the daughter of Avsey Aranovich (1902, Kraslava – 1976) and Sofya Aranovich (née Dorfman, also known as Sheina/Sonya) (1903 [possibly 1906], Kraslava – 1947, Riga).

In 1941, her family was evacuated to Cheboksary (Chuvash ASSR); in 1942 they moved to Cheremkhovo in Irkutsk Oblast; in 1943 to Perm. In 1945, the family returned to Riga. Gita completed FZO Vocational School No. 9 and the 8th grade of secondary school.

From 1947 to 1950, she worked as a laborer at the Globus plant. In 1950–54, she was a worker at the Sarkana Ausma factory. From 1954 to 1963, she worked at the Sadarbs haberdashery combine of the Riga City Executive Committee. In 1964–66, she was employed at the VEF plant. From 1968 to 1988, she worked in Shop No. 101 in Riga as a senior controller-cashier and senior sales assistant. She also served as chair of a people’s control group, as well as a political informant and agitator.

She was married to Viktor Oshkaln (born 1935, Riga), and they had a son, Andris Oshkaln (born 1961).

In 1988, Gita Oshkaln received permission to emigrate to Israel, joining her siblings who had emigrated earlier: Feiga (Faina) Kleiman (née Aranovich) (1926, Riga), Reiza (Roza) Azef (née Aranovich) (1930, Riga), and Girsh Aranovich (1933, Kraslava).
