Neishlos (Neuschloss) (née Tumarkina) Hiena Iosifovna (12 September 1906, Polotsk, Vitebsk Province, Belarus) — office employee.

Hiena Neishlos was born into the family of Iosif Naumovich Tumarkin (1875, Polotsk – 1941, Riga, murdered by the Nazis) and Musia Isaakovna Tumarkina (née Atlas) (1875, Polotsk – 1941, Riga, murdered by the Nazis). In 1918 the family moved to Riga. There she completed secondary school in 1925 and subsequently worked as an accountant’s clerk at the timber and building materials warehouse of Sh. Arkind (1925–1931). From 1931 to 1941 she was employed as an accountant at the Ed. Bruns paper factory.

In 1941 she was evacuated to Chelyabinsk, where from 1942 to 1945 she worked as secretary of the factory committee at Plant No. 544. After returning to Riga, she worked as an accountant at the Construction Administration of Naval Enterprises (1945–1946). From 1946 to 1949 she was a homemaker. In 1949 she worked as a receiver at the Zvaigzne artel, in 1950 as an accountant at the Ukraina sanatorium. From 1950 to 1952 she again lived on her husband’s support. In 1952–1953 she worked as an accountant at the Spars artel and in 1953 at the Chaika sanatorium. From 1953 to 1961 she was again dependent on her husband, and from 1961 she was retired.

In her first marriage to Isaak Samuilovich Brod (1908, Riga – 1942, killed at the front during the Second World War), two sons were born: Mark Isaakovich Brod (1937, Riga – 1941, Chelyabinsk) and Naum Isaakovich Brod (born 1939, Riga).

In her second marriage to Hertz Abramovich Neishlos (born 1906, Dvinsk, today Daugavpils), a daughter was born: Lyubov Gertsevna Maiofis (née Neishlos) (born 1946, Riga).

In 1969 Hiena Neishlos applied for permission to emigrate to France, where her second husband’s sister, Chaya Abramovna Eckhardt (née Neishlos) (born 1917, Nizhny Novgorod), had lived since 1938, but her request was denied. In 1978 she received permission to emigrate to Israel, where since 1971 her second husband’s nephew Isaak Arkadyevich Neishlos (born 1948, Riga) had been living, and where in 1972 her sister-in-law Chaya Abramovna Eckhardt had also moved from France.
