Miller Vulf (Wulf) Izrailevich
(born 1 May 1910, Jekabpils) — shoemaker and cutter.
Vulf Miller completed five years of Jewish schooling. In 1926 he moved to Riga, where until 1940 he worked first as an apprentice and later as a preparer in a private shoe workshop. From 1944 to 1952 he was a preparer at the Riga Shoe Artel. For over 20 years, from 1952 to 1974, he worked as a cutter and head of the shoemaking workshop at footwear enterprises of the Baltic Railway.
In 1941, Miller was unable to evacuate and was imprisoned in the Riga Ghetto. He managed to escape and hid with Latvian acquaintances in Riga until the city was liberated. His parents, Israel Miller (1884–1941) and Tauba-Ginde Miller (1886–1941), his brother Itzhak Miller (1915–1941), sisters Minna Miller (1906–1941), Sara Miller (1905–1941), and Sima Miller (1912–1941), his first wife Betya Miller (née Lapun) (1915–1941), and daughter Golda Miller (1934–1941) were all killed in the Riga Ghetto.
In 1945 he married Khaya-Eta Miller (née Tsemel, formerly Lopato) (born 1919). In 1948 he formally adopted his wife’s son from her first marriage, Semen Tsemel (born 1941), giving him his surname and patronymic.
His sons, Semen Miller (born 1941, adopted) and Anatoly Miller (born 1946), emigrated to Israel in 1970. His sister, Lina Goldberg (née Miller) (born 1908), lived in Åbo–Turku, Finland in 1970. In 1979, Vulf Miller received permission to emigrate to Israel to join his children.
