Latvia and Rabbis

1)
In Di Geshikhte fun di Yidn in Letland it is written that he was accepted as rabbi in Ilukste in the year 5635 and served there until the year 5644, and in Ohalei Shem it is written that in the year 5642 he was accepted as rabbi of Disna. But it has already been proven in the collection Ohalei Lubavitch, booklet 3, p. 14, note 7, that from the dates of the approbations to his book it emerges that in the year 5643 he was still rabbi in Ilukste. See also HaMelitz, 4 Tammuz 5644 (27 June 1884), where it is noted that he arrived to serve in the rabbinate in Disna before Rosh Hashanah 5644.
