Manoim (née Shpungina) Ester Shmuilovna (15 July 1911, Līvāni) — seamstress.
Ester Manoim was born into the family of Shmuel Faivishevich Shpungin (1871–1913, Līvāni) and Taube Borukhovna Shpungina (née Leibovich) (born 1876; murdered by the Nazis in 1941, Līvāni). She completed six years of elementary schooling. After moving to Riga, she worked first as an apprentice and later as a seamstress at the Toront workshop (1929–40), then as a seamstress at an industrial combine (1940–41). She was evacuated to Kirov Region, where she worked as a seamstress at the “Shveitekstil” workshop (1941–43), and subsequently as a seamstress attached to Factory No. 76 in Sverdlovsk (1943–45).
After returning to Riga, she continued to work as a seamstress: at the “Medsnabsbyt” workshop (1945–48), in the “Savienība” artel (1948–53), and in the “Rosme” artel, later reorganised as the firm “Rīgas Apģērbs” (1953–66).
She was married to Aba Gertsevich Manoim (1910, Rēzekne — 1972, Riga). Their children were: Ida Abovna Bobr (née Manoim) (born 1937, Riga) and Samuil Abovich Manoim (born 1942, Kirov Region).
In 1979, Ester Manoim received permission to emigrate to Israel, where her nephew Uriy (Urya) Solomonovich Gelbart (born 1937, Krustpils) had been living since 1972.
