Latvia and Rabbis

1)
In his book Hidur Mitzvah, p. 16, he writes: “And I will write further on this matter to resolve the difficulty of the rabbi, the Gaon, my teacher and master, R. Moshe Yitzchak, of blessed memory, who printed several pages on tractate Berakhot.”
2)
So he signs in his books Me'iri Halakha: “Meir Man, Av Beit Din of the holy congregation of Lemsal and the holy congregation of Jurburg.”
3)
And there: “residing in the holy congregation of Lemsal,” meaning that in 5637 he was already serving here as rabbi.
4)
From the last approbation there, from the Jerusalem rabbinical court, from the month of Iyyar 5656, in which they write “and behold, for six years he has dwelt in holiness,” it is understood that he ascended to the Land of Israel around 5650. And likewise he mentions at the end of the introduction to his book that he has been in Jerusalem for seven years.
