Born in approximately 5582 (1822), his origin from Yanishok.

Son-in-law of R. Yaakov Bendtman of Bauska.

He was dayan and rabbinic decisor in Zager Hadash, and after the passing of his son mentioned above came to serve here as dayan and rabbinic decisor.

He passed away on 14 Adar II 5654 (22 March 1894).

Torah novellae from him were printed in his father-in-law's book Zikaron Yaakov.
