R. Avraham son of R. Eliezer Lipman Lichtstein#footnote[In the title page of several of his books his family name appears as "Licht Stein," and in the introduction to his book _Eshel Megadanot_ he signs "Avraham Likhshtein," but his brother R. Mordechai rabbi of Tukums and his descendants wrote their family name as Lichtenstein.]

Krustpils / Kreutzburg

Grandson of R. Natan, brother of the Tzaddikim R. Zushe of Anipol and R. Elimelekh of Lizhensk.

He also served as rabbi in Lida, Anikst, Zabludova, Vilkovishk, Vilkomir, Prashnits, Łask, Zalin, and Holubka.1)

The year of his passing is not known with certainty.2)

Author of the books: Hin Tzedek and Tikun HaMidot, Amudei Shamayim,3) Igeret HaTzofeh, Kanfei Nesharim, Ge'ulat Olam (on the Passover Haggadah), Eshel Megadanot, Ma'amar HaTorah VeHaMitzvah, Even Tekumah, and more.

An approbation from him was printed in Midrash Tanchuma with the commentary Etz Yosef and Anaf Yosef. An approbation from him given for Ginzei HaMelekh (manuscript) is cited below.

Di Geshikhte, p. 118. Shem HaGedolim HaShlishi, p. 52 (letter 194). Yidishe Shtet, p. 26 (where it states he served in the rabbinate for 54 years) and p. 114 (where it states he was born in Vilkomir). See about him also in Ir Lask veChakhameha, pp. 66 ff.

Latvia and Rabbis

1)
Yidishe Shtet, p. 26, writes that he was also rabbi in Libau (Liepāja), but this is not mentioned in additional sources (the author apparently confused it with the city of Lida mentioned further there on p. 114). He also writes thus on the title page of his books Hin Tzedek, Tikun HaMidot, and Amudei Shamayim.
2)
In the introduction to his commentary Hin Tzedek printed in tractate Avot, Oz veHadar edition, it is proven that he passed away between 5591 and 5594 (there also appears a list of his printed compositions). However, see below the approbation from him dated 8 Iyyar 5596. In Kenat Soferim, folio 109b, it is written in error that he passed away in 5633, but this was certainly confused across generations and individuals — see the note there, 1869, which conflated two different R. Eliezer Lipman Lichtensteins, as detailed in Di Geshikhte fun di Yidn in Letland, p. 118.
3)
See about this book and its author in Ohel R.Ch.L., vol. 2, pp. 431 ff.
