Leibin (née Gelvan) Zoya (24 February 1945) — violinist. Sister of Vladimir Gelvan and mother of Iveta Matisson.

In 1963, Zoya Leibin graduated from the E. Darziņš Music School (class of V. Sturestep), and in 1969 from the Latvian Conservatoire (also class of V. Sturestep). In 1963–64, she taught at the E. Darziņš Music School.

In 1972, she emigrated to the United States, lived in Florida, and taught at the Music Academy. In 1974–75, she worked in a symphony orchestra in Canada; in 1977, she performed with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra (USA) in the first violin section (third stand), later becoming concertmaster of the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra. She also played in a string quartet.

In 1988, Zoya Leibin founded a youth symphony orchestra affiliated with the San Francisco Symphony and became its director.

Matisson (née Gelvan) Iveta — violinist, violist.

Iveta Matisson studied at the E. Darziņš Music School (class of I. Abramiss), but did not complete her studies as she left after the 10th year, in November 1983, to join her mother, Zoya Leibin, in San Francisco. She studied with D. Wallerstein (first violinist of the Cleveland Quartet). She continued her violin and viola training in Salzburg.

Later, she performed with the Belgian State Orchestra and appeared as a soloist.
