Latskaya (Latzkaya) (née Dunes) Vera Yakovlevna (born 28 December 1928, Riga) — fur-machine operator.
Vera Latskaya (née Dunes) was born into the family of Yankel Mendelevich Dunes (1906, Dvinsk — 1944, Slobodskoy, Kirov Region; died in a labour camp, posthumously rehabilitated) and Tsira Moiseevna Moskovitz (née Hamburg; in first marriage — Dunes, in second — Kogan) (born 1908, Dvinsk).
Evacuated during the Second World War to Slobodskoy, where she completed six years of schooling (1941–1945). Upon returning to Riga, she worked as a fur-machine operator: at Latpromtorg (1945–1949), at the Elektra Factory (1949–1950), and later was a homemaker (1950–1955). She resumed work as a fur-machine operator at Rīgas Apģērbs (1955–1959), again was on her husband’s support (1960–1966), then worked as a fur seamstress at the Siluets Association (1966–1968), and later once more was a homemaker (1968–1971).
Married to Genokh Vulfovich Latsky (born 1923, Riga). The couple had three daughters:
Ida Genokhovna Latsaya (1950–1968, Riga),
Bella Genokhovna Latskaya (born 1960, Riga),
Sofia Genokhovna Latskaya (born 1961, Riga).
In 1971, the family received permission to emigrate to Israel, where Vera’s mother Tsira Moiseevna Moskovitz (née Hamburg) had moved in the spring of that year, and where also lived her husband’s cousin, Alexander Filippovich Latsky (born 1914, Riga).
