Kurman (Kurmann) (nee Gutman) Ester (Esther) Isakovna (April 27, 1909, Liepāja) — homemaker.

Ester Kurman received an incomplete secondary education in Liepāja in 1926 and until 1941 worked as a private music tutor. In 1930, her son Pavel was born (he drowned in 1945 in the town of Marx). In 1940, she married Mendel Kurman (born 1905), a butcher from Skaistkalne. From 1941 to 1946, she lived in evacuation with her husband in Marx. Since 1946, she lived in Riga, supported by her husband. In 1946, their son Aizik was born.

Her father, Isak Gutman (1865–1939), died shortly before World War II. Her mother, Rosa (Yankelievna) Gutman (1864–1940), three brothers — Israel Gutman (c. 1885), Herman Gutman (c. 1898), and Leib Gutman (c. 1902) — and her sister Riva Gutman (born 1904) were all killed by the Nazis in Riga during the war. Her sister Bluma (née Gutman) Philip (born 1888) left Liepāja for Stockholm in 1919. Another sister, Sonya (née Gutman) Michael (c. 1888), lived in Germany from 1919, and her brother Moses Gutman (born 1896) emigrated to Argentina in 1920.
