Khavenson (Hawensohn) Aizik (Aisik) Shmulovich (9 October 1928, Liepāja) — driver.

Aizik Khavenson was born into the family of Shmul Aizikovich Khavenson (1901 — murdered by the Nazis in the Liepāja ghetto in 1941) and Zara Moiseevna Khavenson (1901 — murdered by the Nazis in the Liepāja ghetto in 1941).

He attended school in Liepāja from 1935 to 1941. During the Second World War he was imprisoned in the Liepāja and Riga ghettos and later in the Stutthof concentration camp (1941–1945). After liberation he returned to Liepāja and completed driver training courses (1945–1946), although because of poor health he was only able to begin work three years later.

He worked as an auto mechanic at ATK-4 (1949–1952, Liepāja), as a driver at a sugar combine (1952–1960, Jēkabpils/Krustpils), at a transport company (1960–1963, Krustpils), and at RSU-14 (1964–1966, Jēkabpils). After moving to Riga, he worked as a mechanic-driver at the “Spetstranskonstruktsiya” combine (1967), a driver for a hydrogeological expedition (1967–1969), for the heating networks of “Glavlatenergo” (1969–1972), and at the “Rīgaselstroimash” factory (1972–1973).

In marriage to Liliya Kazimirovna Janson (1924, Liepāja), he had a son, Zamyuel Aizikovich Khavenson (1949, Liepāja). The marriage ended in divorce in 1967.

In marriage to Asya Matveevna Khavenson (née Singer) (1938, Kazan), he had no children.

In 1973 Aizik Khavenson received permission to emigrate to Israel, where since 1971 his wife’s brother and sister — Aron Matveevich Singer (1940, Kazan) and Sima Matveevna Livshits (née Singer) (1933, Kazan) — had been living.
