Khabinskaya (née Toker) Feiga Khaimovna (25 December 1918, Daugavpils) — seamstress.

Feiga Khabinskaya was born into the family of the shoemaker Khaim Iosilovich Toker (1898, Riga — 1943, Karaganda region) and the homemaker Nesya Solomonovna Toker (née Zeif) (1898–1971, Daugavpils). From 1926 to 1932 she studied at the local Jewish Elementary School No. 1. Between 1932 and 1941 she worked in a private tailoring workshop.

During the Second World War she was evacuated to the Kazakh SSR, where she first worked as a laborer and later as a seamstress in Karaganda region (1942–1945). After returning to Daugavpils she was a homemaker from 1945 to 1961. Later she worked as a seamstress at Voentorg No. 191 (1961–1974) until her retirement.

In marriage to Zus Khaimovich Khabensky (married in 1945), she had a daughter, Raisa Zakharovna Khabinskaya (1946, Daugavpils), a son, Solomon Zakharovich Khabinsky (1947, Daugavpils), and a daughter, Liya Zusyevna Weinstein (née Khabenskaya) (1953, Daugavpils).

In 1988 Feiga Khabinskaya received permission to emigrate to Israel, where her younger daughter Liya Zusyevna Weinstein (née Khabenskaya) had been living since 1979.

Family:

Nesya Solomonovna Toker (née Zeif) (1898–1971) — mother
Solomon Khaimovich Toker (1914, Daugavpils — killed near Moscow in 1942) — brother
Zus Khaimovich Khabensky (married in 1945) — husband
Raisa Zakharovna Khabinskaya (1946) — daughter
Solomon Zakharovich Khabinsky (1947) — son
Liya Zusyevna Weinstein (née Khabenskaya) (1953) — daughter

Note on the surname differences of the husband and children:

In 1942, during the battles near Volgograd (then Stalingrad), Zus Khaimovich Khabensky was advised to change his surname, given name, patronymic, and nationality in case he fell into Nazi captivity. A military identification document was issued under the name “Zakhar Yefimovich Khabinsky, Ukrainian.”

When Feiga Khaimovna Toker married him, she adopted the surname Khabinskaya. Their older children, Raisa and Solomon, accordingly received the patronymics Zakharovna and Zakharovich and the surnames Khabinskaya and Khabinsky.

In 1952, during the replacement of passports, a new document was issued on the basis of his birth certificate under the original name “Zus Khaimovich Khabensky.” Therefore, the younger daughter born in 1953 was registered as Liya Zusyevna Khabenskaya.
