Karasina (née Averbakh) Brokha (Brocha) (1878, Kokhanovsky District, Vitebsk Region) — homemaker.

Brokha Karasina was the daughter of Iosif Averbakh (1850, Orsha – 1898, Liepāja) and Sarra Averbakh (1858, Vitebsk Region – 1941, Liepāja). After her marriage, she moved to Liepāja.

In her marriage to Yankel Karasin (1873, Orsha – 1937, Liepāja), the following children were born: Iosif Karasin (1900, Liepāja – 1963, Liepāja), Ida Shkolnik (née Karasina) (1902, Liepāja – 1941, Riga), Sara Mendelson (née Karasina) (1904, Liepāja).

Her husband was engaged in trade, and after his death, the business was taken over by their son Iosif.

In 1941, her son was repressed. After his release, Iosif was sent to a special settlement in Krasnoyarsk Krai, and Brokha moved there to be with him. In 1960 the family returned to Latvia.

Her brother, Meyer Averbakh (1880, Vitebsk Region), emigrated to the USA at the beginning of the century. Another brother, Khaim Averbakh (1882, Vitebsk Region), lived in the Netherlands in the 1960s. Her sister, Sarra Ginzburg (née Averbakh) (1888, Vitebsk Region), lived in Leningrad in the 1960s.

In 1964, Brocha Karasina received permission to emigrate to Israel at the invitation of her daughter Sara, who had emigrated to Palestine in the 1920s.
