Iofan (née Tsvik, later Foss) Rokha (Rocha) Abramovna
(20 January 1913, Ventspils) — manicurist.
In 1933–34 Rokha Iofan worked at the Kvadrat factory in Riga, and in 1934–36 at the Feldgun factory. Married to Gesel Foss (1905–1942), she had two children: Iosenya Aronovich (née Foss) (b. 1937, Riga) and Daniel Foss (1940–45, Riga).
In 1941 she was evacuated to the Kirov region, where she worked as a nurse, cashier, and cleaner in the town of Malmyzh. In 1945 she returned to Riga and until 1948 worked as a manicurist at Voentorg. From 1948 to 1967 she was a master manicurist at Hairdressing Salon No. 95 of the Riga Hairdressing Management Office. Her first husband was killed at the front near Leningrad. Her second marriage, to Ioel Iofan (b. 1914), ended in divorce in 1965.
Her parents, Abram Tsvik (1881–1941) and Khana Tsvik (1894–1941), and her sister Feiga Tsvik (1917–1941) perished in the Holocaust in Ventspils. Her sister Ester Shmulovich (née Tsvik) (1911–1941) was killed in Riga. Her sister Mira Tsvik (1931–1941) died in evacuation. Her brother Iosif Tsvik (1925–1944) fell at the front.
In 1967 Rokha Iofan applied for permission to emigrate to Israel, invited by her sister Taube Foss (née Tsvik) (b. 1915, Ventspils) and brother-in-law Samuel Foss (b. 1896), her cousin, who had emigrated to Israel in 1965.
