Hirshovich (Hirschowitch, Girshovich) (née Lipman) Beila Motelovna (b. 24 June 1912, Jēkabpils) – accountant.

In 1914, Beila Hirshovich was evacuated to Nevel, and in the spring of 1918, moved to Krustpils. In 1928, she completed her basic education and enrolled in the Jēkabpils State Commercial School, graduating in 1932. In 1934, she visited her husband's brother in Belgium. That same year, she completed courses qualifying her as a pharmacist's assistant and began managing a pharmacy shop in Krustpils.

Between 1940 and 1941, she worked as an accountant for the Cinematography Administration under the Latvian SSR Council of National Economy. In June 1941, she evacuated from Krustpils with her husband’s parents and her children (her husband remained to defend the city) to Varakļāni, where her in-laws perished. She later made her way with her children to Vyazniki in Ivanovo Oblast and eventually to Sarapul, Udmurt ASSR. There, from 1941 to 1942, she worked as an accountant at the Zagotlyon office.

Her husband returned in 1942 but was remobilised in 1944. Between 1942 and 1943, she worked at a meat processing plant. In October 1944, at the invitation of the Latvian SSR Council of National Economy, she returned with her children to Jēkabpils. It was around this time that she learned her own parents, sister, her sister’s husband and their daughter had all perished.

In November 1945, her husband returned and the family relocated to Riga. On the advice of her brother, the family moved to Malakhovka near Moscow, where Beila became a homemaker. After her brother’s death in 1953, the family returned to Riga.

She worked as a cashier at the Lyra restaurant (1957–1959), and in 1963–1964, she was head of storage at the Riga District Military Housing Administration (KECh). In 1965, she visited her husband’s sister in Poland. That same year, she worked as an accountant for the Latvian Television Relay Network Directorate. From 1969 to 1972, she served as an accountant at the Computing Centre of the Riga Wagon-Building Plant. In 1972, she was forced to retire due to health reasons.

In 1978, she applied for permission to travel to the United States for two months.

In 1933, she married Serezha-Imerel Hirshovich (b. 1911, Riga – ?). They had two children:

– Eleonora Sergeyevna Milovanova (née Hirshovich, b. 1935, Riga – date unknown), a prescription clerk at State Pharmacy No. 19. She divorced in 1965 and lived in Riga with her son Anatoly (b. 1959), a student at Riga Polytechnic Institute.
