In the years 5602–5608 (1842–1848) he served as rabbi of Schimberg. Afterward he was in Kholapenichy, district of Minsk, from where he was accepted here as rabbi.
Yahadut Latviya, p. 280. In Toldot Yeshivat HaYehudim BeCourland, p. 154, he conjectures that he was accepted as rabbi here after the aforementioned R. Shimon Zerachi moved to Tavrig for three years, as above.
