Grober Tevel Zalmanovich (b. 18 January 1924, Riga) — tinsmith.

Tevel Grober was the son of Zalman Grober (1886, Dvinsk – 1934, Riga) and Sarra Grober (née Rubanenko) (b. 1890, Dvinsk).

He completed seven years of primary school in 1939. From 1937 to 1941, he worked at the “Letre” factory in Riga. In 1941, he was evacuated to Andijan, Central Asia, where he worked in a local artel.

From 1942 to 1947, he served in the Soviet Army and participated in combat operations.

From 1947 to 1955, he worked as a tinsmith at the Molotov District Industrial Complex in Riga. From 1955 to 1963, he was a tinsmith at the Riga Metalworking Plant, and in 1963 he worked at the “Sarkana Zvaigzne” factory. Later that year, he took a position as a metalworker at the “Metallotehnik” plant.

In his marriage to Pera Grober (née Slivkina) (b. 1929, Riga), he had a daughter, Aviva Grober (b. 1961, Riga).

For his participation in combat operations against Germany and Japan, he was awarded two Medals “For Combat Merit.”

His brothers Shleima (Salamon) Grober (1914, Riga – 1942) and German (Gesel) Grober (1918, Riga – 1941) were killed in action during the Second World War — near Staraya Russa and Leningrad respectively.

In 1971, Tevel Grober received permission to emigrate to Israel.
