Grinshpon (Grinspon) (née Fishman) Zinaida Lvovna (24 March 1893, Riga) — dentist.
Zinaida Grinshpon was the daughter of Lev Fishman (1862, Riga – 1932, Riga) and Anna Fishman (née Vilenchik) (1863, Riga – 1941, Riga).
She was one of seven children in the Fishman family: Maxim Fishman (1883–1941, Riga), Nikolai Fishman (1891–1941, Riga), Alexander Fishman (1892, Riga – 1925, Berlin), Zinaida herself, Yevgeny Fishman (1894, Riga – 1977, London), Serafima Hirshberg (née Fishman) (1895–1941, Riga), and Yadwiga Levina (née Fishman) (1898–1942, Riga).
In 1913, she graduated from the Dolgikh Gymnasium in Riga, and in 1916, from the Riga School of Dentistry. From 1916 to 1920, she maintained her own dental practice.
In 1920, she moved to Berlin with her husband, a student of the Berlin Faculty of Medicine. In 1941, the family returned to the USSR and resettled in the Makinsky District of Akmolinsk Oblast, Kazakhstan, where she worked in the Kupchanovka state farm until 1946. After 1946, she was a homemaker.
Until 1955, she lived in Kotlas, Arkhangelsk Oblast; in 1955, she moved to Ludza, then in 1963 to Jūrmala, and from 1966 onwards lived in Riga.
All members of Zinaida’s immediate family who remained in Riga in 1941 perished in the Holocaust.
In her marriage to Yefrem Grinshpon (1895, Riga – 1966, Jūrmala), she had a daughter, Rufa Fitingof (née Grinshpon) (b. 1924, Riga).
In 1981, Zinaida Grinshpon received permission to emigrate to Israel, following an invitation from Tanya Khanin (née Fitingof) (b. 1901, Riga), her son-in-law’s sister, who had emigrated from Latvia to Palestine in 1935.
