Goldshmit (Goldschmidt) (Neiman) Mala Leibovna (born 26 December 1897, Sabile, Latvia) – homemaker.
Mala Goldshmit was born into a working-class family to Neiman Leib Aronovich (1861, Jēkabpils – 1933, Riga) and Neiman Shora Kasrielovna (1871, Sabile – 1933, Riga). Due to the family’s poverty, she completed only two grades of primary school before entering domestic service.
During WWII, she was evacuated with her sister and nieces/nephews to the Gorky region, where she remained until the end of the war. After returning to Riga, she lived with her niece Levshtein (Kur) Sheina Elievna (1932, Riga), helping with housework and childcare.
She was married to Goldshmit Mikhel Moiseevich (1892, Jēkabpils – killed by the Nazis in the Riga Ghetto in 1941); they had no children.
In 1972, Mala Goldshmit received permission to emigrate to Israel, where her niece’s uncle, Shamir Auva Davidovich (1901, Jerusalem), resided.
