Upon returning to Moscow, she was employed as a procurement specialist at the “Zagotzerno” association (1945–1948). Later, she moved to Riga, where she was a homemaker. She completed courses in cutting and sewing and worked as a cutter at the “Mara” knitwear factory (1964–1970), and later at the auxiliary farm of the “Mengele” kolkhoz in the Ogre District (1974–1975).

For many years, she was a homemaker and held various jobs, including at the Riga Telegraph and Telephone Exchange (1980), as a cleaner at the VEF factory (1984), and as a cleaner for the motor transport enterprise of the Municipal Utilities Department of the Jūrmala City Executive Committee (1987).

She was married to Ilya Borisovich Plotke (born 1916, Kharkiv), and their son Vladimir Ilyich Plotke was born in 1948 in Riga.

In 1990, Zinaida Glinternik received permission to emigrate to Israel, where her husband’s sister, Lia Benzionovna Band (née Plotke) (born 1930, Riga), and her nephew, Benzion Khaimovich Band (born 1950, Riga), had been living since 1972.
