Gamza (Hamza) (née Nidel) Riva (Riwa) Movshovna (b. 2 August 1928, Riga) – seamstress.

Riva Gamza completed five years at a Jewish primary school in Riga. In 1941, the Gamza family was evacuated to the city of Fergana. In 1942, Riva’s father, Maksim Nidel (1902–1975), was conscripted into the active army. In October of that same year, her mother, Rakhil Nidel (1905–1942), her brother Genokh Nidel (1930–1942), and her sister Ida Nidel (1935–1942) all passed away.

Through her father's petition, Riva and her sister Roza Brin (née Nidel, b. 1926) were admitted to an orphanage. Until 1945, Riva lived in the Latvian children's home in the town of Kumeny, Kirov Region. In 1945, the orphanage was re-evacuated to Riga.

From 1947 to 1951, she worked as a seamstress at the “21 July” factory in Riga. From 1961 to 1962, she worked in a warehouse at the Voentorg vegetable depot. From 1962 to 1964, she was employed as an ironing assistant at the “Textilshvejobuvtorg” enterprise. From 1964 to 1965, she worked at the warehouse of the “Detskiy Mir” department store. From 1982, she was a homemaker.

Her daughter, Rakhil Serkina (née Gamza, b. 1951), emigrated from Latvia to Israel in 1978. Her son, Boris Gamza (b. 1959), left Latvia in 1988.
